Safety Harnesses

Front and Rear D Harness

The RGH2 harness is the Workhorse of the industry. The harness is fitted with a rear dee and a chest mounted front dee. This harness can be used similar to the RGH1 (see data sheet), but has the added feature of the front dee ring to extend the working capability of the harness. Utilizing the front dee, the harness can be fitted with a rope and grab system (RGA12) for vertical fall protection when an operative is making repeated ascents or similarly, when restraint/work-positioning is needed in either the vertical or horizontal plane. A variety of other devices can be used with the front dee ring, but please check for suitability. The harness is fully adjustable and is fitted with rip stitch indicators. The ring connection between the chest & the shoulder straps, ensure no stress loading when force is applied the front dee ring.

Rear D Harness

The RGH1 harness is a basic access harness fitted with a rear dee only. This harness is used primarily with a fall arrest lanyard (I.e. RGL1), to provide an operative with basic fall protection. When used in conjunction with a twin leg lanyard (RGL3), the harness can be used for tower climbing, scaffold and general steel erecting, as the twin leg lanyard would provide continuous attachment through double clipping. As with all of the RidgeGear harnesses, the RGH1 is suitable for use with fall arrest blocks, however we recommend the addition of the RGL4 extension strop to facilitate easy connection. The harness is fully adjustable and is fitted with rip stitch indicators.

This kit is approved to the requirements of the IPAF technical guidance notes TGN H1/05/05 This complete harness safety Kit combines our famous RGH2 front & rear "D" harness and a RGL12 adjustable restraint lanyard supplied in a tough plastic storage case. The case provides protection when not using the equipment. The kit is Designed to give maximum protection against vertical ejection from boom type hydraulic work platforms. Kits can also be supplied in a Strong case (as shown) or a top quality Rucksack.

Height Safety Twin Leg Scaffold Kit

Ridgegears range of height safety kits are designed for multiple applications. Each complete kit consists of a full body harness, a shock absorbing lanyard or restraint lanyard ( or fall arrest system - RGHK3 ) and the connectors you require to ensure safe working at height conditions at all times. This complete harness safety kit is specifically designed with the scaffolder in mind. The kit comprises of our famous RGH2 front & rear "D" harness and a RGL3 1.3 m Twin Leg Lanyard which comes complete with two of our ultra lightweight RGK11 Scaffold Karabiner. Kits can also be supplied in a Strong case (As shown) or a top quality Rucksack.

Work Positioning

4 Point Work Positioning Belt

The RGBE-TA is similar to the RGBE but has the added advantage of 4 attachment restraint loops. The belt is supplied with a padded back support. The RGBE-TA is a work positioning / restraint belt,. As with the RGB1&2, the RGBE-TA is normally used in conjunction with an RGL5 restraint lanyard, or a rope and grab system. It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and restraint before using this item.

Twin D Restraint Belt

vThe RGB1 is a work positioning/restraint belt. This belt is fitted with two side mounted dee rings for ease of attachment and the back pad provides some lumber support. The RGB1 is normally used in conjunction with an RGL5 restraint lanyard, or a rope and grab system. Traditionally this item has been used by loading crews at docks, on ships, and container handling areas. However it has more recently been used to access and perform roof maintenance, where the restraint system prevents the user from stepping over an exposed edge and there is no other fall hazard. It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and restraint before using this item.

Lanyards

Webbing Lanyard and Shock Absorber

The RGL1 lanyard is an industry standard, and normally the minimum equipment issued with a harness for working at height. The webbing used in the manufacture provides greater strength, wear and shear resistance compared to other webbing. It is also treated with a water repellent coating which should extend the life of this product. This lanyard should be used when the operative is working from a static position, connected to a fixed anchor point. If movement between anchorages is required, a twin leg lanyard should be used (RGL3), to provide constant protection.

Karabiners

Steel Screw Gate Karabiner

The RGK 1 is the workhorse of the industry, used from rope access, to fall arrest applications. This item is also used in the leisure industry for caving and rescue. The screwgate closure on this device means that the user must manually lock the RGK1 after fitting

Steel Twist Lock Karabiner

The RGK 2 is an extremely safe karabiner to use, as it takes it takes user intervention out by locking automatically. Similar to the RGK 1 in size and weight, the RGK 2 is ideal for lanyards and aid climbing.

Fall Arrest

10m Fall Arrest Block

The RGA2 is a multi purpose fall arrest block, which allows uninhibited movement during normal working activity. The carrying handle is part of the cast alloy housing and can be connected to the anchorage point using soft slings or a karabiner. The RGA2 is used throughout the industry to provide semi permanent protection in work areas, and is also used on lorry sheeting gantries in conjunction with a beam trolley (RGBT 1). For self-connecting to the block, it is recommended that the operative uses an extension strop (RGL4) in order to ease the task. The RGA2 has a working length of 10 metres

2.5 mtr Webbing Fall Arrest Block

The RGA1 is a retractable mini web block ideal for personal issue to operatives working at height. The unit is designed to be connected, and worn directly on a fall arrest harness. The RGA1 has an almost instant lock off in the event of a fall, and recoils into the drum when slack is introduced into the lanyard. The reduced trip hazard and compact design make this unit ideal for tight work and tasks where a shorter arc of mobility is required. The RGA1 can also be fitted to most horizontal lifelines, but always check with the manufacturer prior to fitting. The RGA 1 has a working length of 2.5 metres.

The operating handle is very easy to use and ensures controlled descent. The handle also has a reverse locking mechanism to prevent accidental rapid descent. The rescuer is able to latch onto the person that requires a rescue and both persons are able to descend safely and efficiently to an area of safety. The kernmantel rope is stocked in 20,30 & 60mtr lengths, but can be supplied to any length in order to suit the needs of the user. The integral safety knife is provided as standard so that the rescuer once attached can cut the lanyard of the person that has fallen. due to the design of the safety knife, it is not possible to accidently cut the rescue rope. PROPER TRAINING BY A COMPETENT PERSON IN THE USE OF THIS EQUIPMENT IS ESSENTIAL
