Economy Harness Front and Rear D

The RGH32 is our NEW budget harness, The harness is still manufactured to our very high standards but does not have fall indicators and uses a more economic connection system. The front attachment is by means of webbing loops as illustrated in the image. This harness can be used similar to the RGH1 (see data sheet), but has the added feature of the front Attachment point to extend the working capability of the harness. Utilizing the front attachment point, the harness can be fitted with a rope and grab system (RGA12) for vertical fall protection when an operative is making repeated ascents or similarly, when restraint/work-positioning is needed in either the vertical or horizontal plane. A variety of other devices can be used with the front dee ring, but please check for suitability. The harness is fully adjustable and is fitted with rip stitch indicators. The ring connection between the chest & the shoulder straps, ensure no stress loading when force is applied the front dee ring.

Economy Harness Rear Single D

This is another single point entry level harness developed for the user who requires a harness for a possible one off use or that the environment is particularly harsh requiring the harness to be replaced on a more frequent basis.This harness does not have fall indicators and uses a more economic connection system. Still manufactured to our extremely high standards for both quality and testing. The harness has adjustment on the shoulder straps and the leg straps.

Economy Single Point Harness

The RGHE harness is the budget and extremely lightweight harness in our range. Similar to the RGH1, this RGHE is a basic access harness fitted with a rear dee only, but without the additional adjustment on the shoulder straps. This harness is used primarily with a fall arrest lanyard (i.e. RGL1), to provide an operative with basic fall protection. When used in conjunction with twin leg lanyard (RGL3), the harness can be used for tower climbing, scaffold and general steel erecting, as the twin leg lanyard would provide continuous attachment through double clipping. As with all of the RidgeGear harnesses, the RGHE is suitable for use with fall arrest blocks, however we recommend the addition of the RGL4 extension strop to facilitate easy connection.

Fast Fit Harness

The RGH12 has been developed in conjunction with the Fire Service. The speed and simplicity of assembly and adjustment makes this harness the ideal solution where rapid and simplistic donning is crucial. The waist and leg straps comprise of "Quick Click" snap to buckles, which cannot be incorrectly assembled, and pulling down on the webbing tails easily tightns the front shoulder and chest straps.rnrnThe additional waist strap and extra wide sit strap, provide added support and comfort during use and also whilst in suspension. Pressure is also eased from the legs with the presence of leg compfort pads. The harness comprises front and rear "D" rings for the purpose of fall arrest, and provides the perfect solution where speed and extra comfort is preferred.

Fron and Rear D Rescue Harness

The RGH5 is designed for use as a confined access harness. The front and rear attachment points can be used as standard fall arrest points and the rescue strap can be used for lifting and lowering. When used, the rescue strap keeps the operative in a near vertical position, which is preferred when recovering an unconscious casualty. This harness is used throughout the industry in conjunction with a tripod (RGR1) and a winch unit to access confined spaces, vertical shafts, sewers and silos. As with all of the RidgeGear harnesses, the RGH5 is suitable for use with fall arrest/recovery blocks. The harness is fully adjustable and is fitted with rip stitch indicators.

Front and Rear D Elasticated Harness

With the introduction of elasticated webbing on the leg & lower chest straps, the RGH9 harness provides additional comfort and support during use. Based on the RGH2, this RGH9 is also fitted with a rear dee and a chest mounted front dee. This harness can be used similar to the RGH1 (see data sheet), but has the added feature of the front dee ring to extend the working capability of the harness. Utilizing the front dee, the harness can be fitted with a rope and grab system (RGA12) for vertical fall protection when an operative is making repeated ascents or similarly, when restraint/work-positioning is needed in either the vertical or horizontal plane. A variety of other devices can be used with the front dee ring, but please check for suitability. In addition to the elasticated feature, the harness is fully adjustable and fitted with rip stitch indicators. The ring connection between the chest & the shoulder straps, ensure no stress loading when force is applied to the front dee ring.

Utilizing the front dee, the harness can be fitted with a rope and grab system (RGA12) for vertical fall protection when an operative is making repeated ascents or similarly, when restraint/work-positioning is needed in either the vertical or horizontal plane. As with the RGH2, this harness is suitable for use in performing rescues from height using the RGR4 rope rescue kit. As with the RGA3, the wide belt fitted to the RGH4 is comfortable and provides lumbar support to the operative. The belt is also fitted with three gear loops for carrying tools leaving the hands free thus maintaining the required three points of contact when climbing. All of the features, combined with a good load bearing capacity, make this harness the ideal choice for the professional. The harness is fully adjustable and is fitted with rip stitch indicators. The ring connection between the chest & the shoulder straps, ensure no stress loading when force is applied the front dee ring.

Front, Rear and Side D Utility Harness

Multi purpose harness for most applications. Front and rear for fall arrest and rescue. Work positioning side allow for hands free working. New design of front chest mounted on O rings eliminates webbing stress areas and even distribution of forces in the event of a fall. Annoying webbing tails are eliminated from the front of the harness. Curved stainless steel leg adjusters provide fast and effective non slip adjustment. Ladies Harness

Our new ladies harness is specially designed by ladies for ladies. The harness is manufactured with a high chest and centre strap which fits comfortably between the breasts to limit any possible damage to the breast tissue in the event of a fall. The harnesses is supplied with a waist belt for additional comfort and quick connect leg adjustments to aid donning. Comfort leg pads are supplied as standard and shoulder pads can be supplied as an optional extra.

Multi Task Comfort Harness

The RGH16 is a further innovation of the Ridgegear range of safety harness. For fall arrest the harness comprises front and rear D rings. In addition there is the added benefit of 2 side D work positioning D rings on a comfortable support pad, and a further ventral front D ring positioned at the waist for sit suspension and / or work positioning. This comfortable harness is designed for operatives who spend long hours working at height and in exposed areas. The RGH16 is a multi task harness and will allow operatives to access almost any area in safety using a combination of the RidgeGear products available. The belt is also fitted with three gear loops for carrying tools leaving the hands free thus maintaining the required three points of contact when climbing. All of the features, combined with a good load bearing capacity, make this harness the ideal choice for the professional. The harness is fully adjustable and can be quickly and easily adjusted to fit the wearer. The position of the waist comfort pad can be adjusted to give optimum comfort. Leg straps are opened using lightweight adjustable quick click buckles, which allow for easy and quick step-in facility. Comfort leg pads are also provided.

Rear and Side D Harness

The RGH3 combines the basic fall arrest harness with a comfortable work-positioning belt in one unit. The harness is fitted with a rear dee and two side dee rings mounted to the belt and can be used similar to the RGH1 (see data sheet). When fitted with a pole/work-positioning belt (RGP1&2), the harness can be used for pole climbing or work-positioning on open structures. In certain circumstances, the side d's on the RGH3, can be used for work restraint in the horizontal plane. The wide belt fitted to the RGH3 is comfortable and provides lumbar support to the operative. The belt is also fitted with three gear loops for carrying tools leaving the hands free thus maintaining the required three points of contact when climbing. The harness is fully adjustable and is fitted with rip stitch indicators.

Rear D Harness

The RGH1 harness is a basic access harness fitted with a rear dee only. This harness is used primarily with a fall arrest lanyard (I.e. RGL1), to provide an operative with basic fall protection. Work Positioning

4 Point Work Positioning Belt

The RGBE-TA is similar to the RGBE but has the added advantage of 4 attachment restraint loops. The belt is supplied with a padded back support. The RGBE-TA is a work positioning / restraint belt,. As with the RGB1&2, the RGBE-TA is normally used in conjunction with an RGL5 restraint lanyard, or a rope and grab system. It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and restraint before using this item.

Restraint Belt with Integral Pole Strap

The RGB180BT is a work positioning belt, (see the info sheet on restraint vs. fall arrest). This belt is fitted with an integral work positioning strap that can be passed around a pole or similar structure and clipped back onto the remaining side D ring. The WP strap is fully adjustable and is fitted with an anti abrasion wear pad and double action safety snap hook. The back pad provides lumber support. It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and Work positioning/restraint before using this item.

Rope Pole Strap

The RGP1 is a pole strap/work-positioning device, designed to be clipped to the side dees of a harness or work-positioning belt. The adjuster is easy to use one handed either under tension or not. The 16mm hard lay rope is additionally protected by a cordura sleeve in the work area, to offer some protection against abrasion and extend the life of the product. The 2m length of the RGP1 allows the user enough freedom of movement, without being exposed to a fall. The RGP1 can be used for pole climbing, but excels when used for mast climbing and maintenance and general work on open steel structures. Once the structure is climbed, the user can attach the RGP1, adjusting it to the required length. The operative can then use both hands to perform tasks whilst in a safe and comfortable position. This device is normally used in conjunction with an RGH3 or RGH4, which allows for the attachment of additional fall arrest equipment.

Single D Restraint Belt

The RGBE is an export version of the RGB1, fitted with only one dee ring attachment mounted at the rear. However this belt still retains the standard padded back support. The RGBE is a work positioning/restraint belt, (see the info sheet on restraint vs. fall arrest). As with the RGB1&2, the RGBE is normally used in conjunction with an RGL5 restraint lanyard, or a rope and grab system. The uses for this restraint belt are similar to the RGB1 (see RGB1 data sheet for more details). It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and restraint before using this item.

Twin D Restraint Belt

vThe RGB1 is a work positioning/restraint belt. This belt is fitted with two side mounted dee rings for ease of attachment and the back pad provides some lumber support. The RGB1 is normally used in conjunction with an RGL5 restraint lanyard, or a rope and grab system. Traditionally this item has been used by loading crews at docks, on ships, and container handling areas. However it has more recently been used to access and perform roof maintenance, where the restraint system prevents the user from stepping over an exposed edge and there is no other fall hazard. It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and restraint before using this item.

Twin D Restraint Belt

The RGB2 is essentially an RGB1 with alternative buckle and gear loops fitted, and is a work positioning/restraint belt (see the info sheet on restraint vs. fall arrest). This belt is fitted with two side mounted dee rings for ease of attachment and the back pad provides some lumber support and comfort, especially when tools are hung from the belt loops. As with the RGB1, the RGB2 is normally used in conjunction with an RGL5 restraint lanyard, or a rope and grab system. The uses for this restraint belt are similar to the RGB1 (see RGB1 data sheet), however to prevent the user from dropping tools from height, all tools can be secured to the gear loops by a cord lanyard and also clipped to the belt when not in use. It is important that a client understands the difference between fall arrest and restraint before using this item.

The RGP2 is primarily used for pole climbing, but can also be pressed into service for mast climbing, maintenance and general work on open steel structures. When pole climbing, additional equipment should be used to prevent falls whilst moving. When the RGP2 is attached, the operative can then use both hands to perform tasks whilst in a safe and comfortable position. This device is normally used in conjunction with an RGH3 or RGH4, which also allows for the attachment of additional fall arrest equipment.

Wire Pole Strap

The RGP4 is a multi purpose work-positioning device, designed to be clipped to the side dees of a harness or work-positioning belt or used independently. The RGP4 can be supplied in a variety of lengths.

Lanyards

Adjustable Restraint Lanyard

The RGL12 is an adjustable restraint lanyard, and various lengths are available to act as a leash for an operative working at height. The adjustability of the product ensures that the correct length can be selected for the task in hand. It is important to understand the principles of fall restraint as the RGL12 can only be used for Fall Restraint, as there is no shock absorbsion built into the system. If there is any possibility of an operative stepping/falling over an exposed edge, or falling through a fragile surface, a Fall Arrest product should be used. The 40kN webbing used in the manufacture provides greater strength compared to other webbing and systems. The RGL12 should never be used to extend another fall arrest product

Adjustable Shock Absorbing Lanyard

The RGL13 is supplied in two standard lengths, 0.9 1.3 Mtr and 1.2 1.8 Mtr The RGL13 lanyard like the RGL1 is an industry standard, and normally the minimum equipment issued with a harness for working at height. The 40kN webbing used in the manufacture provides greater strength compared to other webbing and systems. The additional benefit of adjustability allow for greater flexibility. The lanyard length can be adjusted to suit the application. Potential trip hazard can be avoided and potential free fall distance can be reduced which is less possible with a non-adjusting lanyard. This lanyard should be used when the operative is working from a static position, connected to a fixed anchor point. If movement between anchorages is required, a twin leg lanyard should be used (RGL3), to provide constant protection.

Adjustable Twin Leg Fall Arrest Lanyard

The RGL16 is supplied in two standard lengths: 0.9 1.3 Mtr &1.2 1.8 Mtr The RGL16 is a twin leg Fall Arrest lanyard; the extra leg allows movement between anchorage points by means of double clipping. This system is generally used for tower climbing, steel erecting, scaffolding and maintenance on open structures. When used in conjunction with two Girder Slings (RGK26), the RGL16 can be used as a means of progression through suitable structures where no fixed lifeline or eyebolts are available. The lanyard length can be adjusted to suit the application. Potential trip hazard can be avoided and potential free fall distance can be reduced which is less possible with a nonadjusting lanyard. This lanyard can be fitted with any compatible EN362 Karabiner

The elastication in the lanyard reduces the amount of hanging slack in the lanyard, which can be helpful when working in tight spaces to help reduce trip hazards and entanglement.

Kinetic Fall Arrest Lanyard

The RGL20 is a new innovation in safety lanyards, which incorporates inner webbing that, in the event of a fall will stretch under a constant controlled force thus reducing the impact on the wearer. The outer webbing provides additional strength way in excess of the 22kN requirements of EN354. Typical results show a breaking load of around 27kN. In addition to the ambient tests required of EN354 / 355, this product has also been tested in wet, frozen wet and frozen dry conditions of 35 degrees C. The RGL20 only has these 2 components thus providing versatility, simplicity and negates the need for a separate bulky shock pack. The fall arrest force trace is a lot smoother than with conventional tear webbing, and the permanent elongation (displacement) is also less at approx 1.20mtrs for a fail factor 2. Tear webbing extends by approx 1.55mtrs, therefore the clearance below the user can be reduced. Inspection is simplified due to minimal use of components, and the total weight is less than other typical lanyard types. The RGL20 also incorporates a rip stitch indicator that automatically deploys in the event of a fall. The outer webbing is also treated with a water repellent coating, which should extend the life of this product. This lanyard should be used when the operative is working from a static position, connected to a fixed anchor point.

Shock Absorber

The RGL7 is similar to the standard shock pack, which is fitted to all of the RidgeGear fall arrest lanyards. When supplied as an individual unit, the RGL7 is fitted with RGK12 delta links at both ends. The maximum extension of the RGL7 is 1.75M when fully deployed, and this unit is also fitted with a back up length of webbing for reassured strength and security. The transparent protective sleeve covering the unit, allows the user to visually inspect the condition of the RGL7 prior to each use.

Steel Chain Lanyard and Shock Absorber

The RGL10 is fitted with the same shock absorber pack as all of the other RidgeGear fall arrest lanyards and is supplied in one standard length of 1.8M The RGL 10 was originally designed for the mining industry, as the chain lanyard length provided protection against damage, due to falling debris. Although this is a heavy weight lanyard, once fitted, the user doesnt feel a marked difference to using other lanyards. Due to the weight of the chain, it tends to keep away from the user whilst working.

Twin Leg Elasticated Webbing

The RGL17 is supplied in 1m & 0.5m Lengths Other lengths on request The RGL17 lanyard is an industry standard for twin leg rope restraint lanyards, and normally the minimum equipment issued with a harness for working at height. The 12mm nylon used in the manufacture provides greater edge wear resistance compared to other webbing and systems. It is important to understand the principles of fall restrain as the RGL17 can only be used for Fall Restraint, as there is no shock absorbsion built into the system. If there is any possibility of an operative stepping/Sliping or falling over an exposed edge, or falling through a fragile surface, a Fall Arrest product must be used. This lanyard can be fitted with any compatible EN362 Karabiner.

The RGL4 is supplied in a 450mm length and is normally used as an extension strop fitted to the rear dee ring of a full body harness. When used in this manner, it allows an operative to self-connect to a fall arrest block (RGA1-8) by extending the attachment point on the harness, and bringing it into the field of vision. The Soft Edge webbing used in the manufacture provides greater strength, wear and shear resistance compared to other webbing. It is also treated with a water repellent coating which should extend the life of this product.

Karabiners

Alloy Captive Eye

The RGK 9 is an aluminium captive eye karabiner normally fitted to fall arrest lanyards or restraint belts. The screwgate closure on this device means that the user must manually lock the RGK9 after fitting. This product has the added advantage of being permanently attached to the lanyard.

Alloy Double Action Snap Hook

The RGK 17 is an extremely lightweight alloy steel, double action snap hook. Used in preference to other karabiners/snap hooks where weight is of extreme importance.

Aluminium Double Action Snap Hook

The RGK11 is a large gate opening, aluminium captive eye karabiner, normally fitted to fall arrest lanyards for quick clipping The double action snap closure on this device means that it cannot be accidentally opened but allows speedy one-handed operation.

Aluminium Large Gate Karabiner

The RGK 6 is a lightweight version of the RGK 5. This device can be fitted to fall arrest lanyards, but is normally seen connected to ropes and used with rope grab systems to provide vertical protection. Used throughout the industry as part of a protection system on portable ladders. It also has a removable pin to enable retro fitting to lanyards

Aluminium Twist Lock Karabiner

The RGK 4 is a lightweight version of the RGK 3 carrying a lower MBS. Although this item can be fitted to fall arrest lanyards, it is also used in conjunction with belay devices and pulleys in the rope access and rescue industries. Again, the RGK 4 is fitted with a twistlock auto closure.

Steel Double Action Snap Hook

The gate opening of the RGK10 means that this item is normally used for clipping directly into a dee ring on a harness. Normally fitted to fall arrest blocks or fixed lanyards. The double action snap closure on this device means that it cannot be accidentally opened.

Steel Large Gate Karabiner

The large gate opening of the RGK 5, make it ideal for use in industrial areas. The use of this karabiner often negates the use of a sling as it can connect directly to steelwork. Often fitted to double lanyards for climbing masts and steel structures. This karabiner is fitted with a twistlock closure. It also has a removable pin to enable retro fitting to lanyards

Steel Screw Gate Karabiner

The RGK 1 is the workhorse of the industry, used from rope access, to fall arrest applications. This item is also used in the leisure industry for caving and rescue. The screwgate closure on this device means that the user must manually lock the RGK1 after fitting

Steel Screwgate

The RGK13 is a stronger alternative to the RGK1. It is used in a vast variety of applications such as rope access and fall arrest. The screwgate closure on this device means that the user must manually lock the RGK13after attachment to an approved anchorage point.

Steel Sgrewgate with Captive Pin

The RGK 13P is the same as the RGK13 but has the added advantage of a retention pin which allows you to captivate it to a lanyard.

Steel Spring Hook 105mm Opening

Not strictly a karabiner, the RGK7 is an attachment device with a wide gate opening, ideal for use in industrial areas. The use of this karabiner often negates the use of a sling as it can connect directly to steelwork. Most often fitted to lanyards for working on steel structures.

Steel Spring Hook 140mm Opening

Not strictly a karabiner, the RGK8 is an attachment device with a wide gate opening, ideal for use in industrial areas. The use of this karabiner often negates the use of a sling as it can connect directly to steelwork. Most often fitted to lanyards for working on steel structures.

Steel Triangular Screw Gate Karabiner

The true industrial connecter, the RGK12 is normally used on the operatives end of a shock pack or lanyard. This provides a semi-permanent connection to the fall arrest equipment. This item has many applications in the rope access and leisure industries.

Steel Triple Action Karabiner

This triple action karabiner is one of the safest in the industry. In order to open it, the operator has to lift the barrel, then twist and finally open the sprung gate. In addition to the super safe properties of this karabiner, it also has the benefit of super strength.

Steel Twist Lock Karabiner

The RGK 2 is an extremely safe karabiner to use, as it takes it takes user intervention out by locking automatically. Similar to the RGK 1 in size and weight, the RGK 2 is ideal for lanyards and aid climbing.

The RGA4 is a three way retrieval block fitted with an up/down winch mechanism and the standard fall arrest capability. This unit can be used as a standard fall arrest block, but in the event of a fall, the operative can be winched up or down to safety almost immediately. As most rescue systems lower the casualty, the RGA4 can raise the operative to safe area, if the area below is unsuitable. The RGA4 can also be fitted to the RGR1 tripod for use in the confined access industry. The Man-riding rescue retrieval winch function is for use only as a rescue provision & NOT for access / egress. Where an operative is required to be lowered / raised for access / egress, then please use such equipment as the RGR7 50m Two-speed Man Riding RGR7 Winch. This arrangement must be backed up with a independent separate fall arrest system, and a rescue provision that is also separate to the winch. Where a 15m maximum length is suitable the RGA4 / RGA4H can provide both fall arrest back-up as well as the rescue provision. 15 mtr Wire Fall Arrest Block

With its longer working length and heavier construction, the RGA3 has been used successfully by the offshore industry for years. The carrying handle of the RGA 3 is part of the cast alloy housing and can be connected to the anchorage point using soft slings or a karabiner. The RGA3 is suitable for use in most industries to provide protection in work areas with overhead anchorage points. The RGA3 has a working length of 15 metres

2.5 mtr Webbing Fall Arrest Block

The RGA1 is a retractable mini web block ideal for personal issue to operatives working at height. The unit is designed to be connected, and worn directly on a fall arrest harness. The RGA1 has an almost instant lock off in the event of a fall, and recoils into the drum when slack is introduced into the lanyard. The reduced trip hazard and compact design make this unit ideal for tight work and tasks where a shorter arc of mobility is required. The RGA1 can also be fitted to most horizontal lifelines, but always check with the manufacturer prior to fitting. The RGA 1 has a working length of 2.5 metres.

33 mtr Wire Arrest and Rescue 3 Way

33 Metre fall arrester manufactured from powder coated die cast aluminium with self-retracting wire lanyard and a bolt on emergency rescue winch. The integrated swivel hook avoids torsion on the wire lanyard. Load indicator shows if a fall has occurred. 33 mtr Wire Fall Arrest Auto Descent

Similar to the RGA7, the RGA8 also has the benefit of a longer cable length of 33mtr. The RGA8 has an extra feature of an automatic descender that will activate in the event of a fall and automatically lower the user to the ground. Not suitable for use in horizontal mode.

5mtr Webbing Fall Arrest Block

The RGA5 is a compact, robust yet lightweight fall arrest block. This unit does not have an integral handle, but is fitted with an alloy swivel eye for connection to an anchorage via a karabiner. Due to its low weight, this device is ideal for use with certain horizontal lifelines. As a general-purpose fall arrest block, the RGA5 has proved its worth in the industry. Fitted with webbing instead of wire, this block is suited for work in and around fragile components i.e.; aircraft industry and glass lined vessels. The RGA5 has been updated in November 08 and now has a working length of 5 metres.

A lighter weight and smaller block than the RGA2, the RGA26 is also a multi purpose fall arrest block, which allows uninhibited movement during normal working activity. Rescue Tripod

The RGR1 Rescue Tripod is portable, lightweight and is easy to erect on site. It has adjustable lower and middle legs at 80mm intervals to adapt and adjust to the most demanding surfaces and varying ground conditions. There are two additional anchorage points ( SWL 200kgs each )on the underside of the head for additional primary / secondary systems. This unit has many applications such as confined access, entry, rescue, retrieval, manhole, silos & trenches, etc. The RGR1 is extremely versitile and is recomended for use with the side attachment of the RGR7 rescue winch and the RGR4 fall arrest & rescue recovery winch.

The RGR7 is fitted with an up/down clutch locking mechanism. Manufactured from steel with a baked enamel finish, the RGR7 has a 50cm per handle turn allowing for rapid retrieving/lowering of cable. This unit has many applications such as confined space entry, manholes and chemical vessels, etc. The operative can be winched up or down to safety almost immediately. As most rescue systems lower the casualty, the RGR7 can raise the operative to safe area, if the area below is unsuitable. The RGR7 is most commonly fitted to the RGR1 tripod for use in the confined access industry, as it can lower a worker into an area where no ladders are fitted. The RGR 7 has a working length of 50 metres.
